We previously blogged that New Jersey employers would, starting in November 2012, be required to post a notice to all employees reminding them of their rights to be free from gender discrimination in pay and terms of employment.  (See 10/3/12 blog "November Brings an Election and New Discrimination Posting Requirements for New Jersey Employers"). 

Employers who are scrambling to figure out where to get the posters can relax.


The new law requires that the posters be developed by the New Jersey Commissioner of Workforce and Development.  Further, the law provides that employers will have 30 days from the date the posters are issued to post them and give notification to employees.


According to a bulletin issued by the NJDOL, the posters will have to be developed by formal regulatory process and will require public comment.  In other words, don’t look for them anytime soon.  Is it just me or do you detect a little attitude in the bulletin, kind of a "we’ll get to it, when we get to it" statement?  In any case, we’ll update you when the posters are issued.
